JCB Hawaii Guide Available for iPhone(R)

Tokyo, June 17, 2011 – JCB, the only international credit card brand based in Japan, announced the launch of the free JCB Hawaii Guide application on June 14, 2011. JCB Hawaii Guide is available for iPhone and iPod touch® and will provide JCB cardmembers access to location-based discounts using the GPS locator function and other special merchant offers in addition to travel and sightseeing information to prepare for the summer vacation season.
Discounts of up to 30% and other deals such as free beverages at restaurants are among more than 200 special offers available with JCB card payment. Furthermore, knowledgeable staff at the JCB Plaza Lounge Honolulu have compiled the latest travel and sightseeing information specifically for the needs and interests of visitors.
"JCB is pleased to launch this new application, enabling JCB cardmembers to enjoy various merchant offers through this new communication channel", said Tac Watanabe, Executive Vice President of JCBI. "Strategically, this is an important step towards further broadening the scope of our services utilizing information and communication technologies to provide JCB's unique value."
JCB is developing a wide range of services for iPhone and other smartphones, which are expected to overtake conventional cell phones in 2012. JCB is preparing other languages for this application such as traditional Chinese (Taiwan), simplified Chinese, Korean and English in addition to Japanese language, as well as an application for Android to enhance the convenience for JCB cardmembers based globally.
