JCB Moves into New Headquarters,
First to Deploy its Own JCB Offica Corporate Smart Card Solution

June 2003

Tokyo, Japan, June 2, 2002 - JCB announced that it has moved into its new headquarters in Tokyo. Construction of the complex in Tokyo's fashionable Aoyama district was completed in May, and operations from the new 16-story tower began today. All staff in the new headquarters have been equipped with the JCB's own Offica corporate smart card solution, introduced to the market in April 2003.

The Offica solution offers corporations a diverse menu of functions incorporated into a single contactless smart card, providing multifunctionality and high security at a low cost. Built around Sony's widely-used FeliCa contactless smart card technology, Offica offers a wide menu of functions including office access control and cashless purchasing at company cafeterias or other facilities. One important advantage over conventional cards is the postpayment capability linked to an employee's own JCB credit card. This eliminates the need for administering cash to load value onto the card.

The Offica corporate smart card package is only one of JCB's many initiatives as a comprehensive payment solution provider, developing products and services to meet the needs of business and individual customers around the globe.
